Enabling Directions for OpenLayers

Overview

Directions for OpenLayers is powered via an OpenRouteService key

This documentation covers getting OpenRouteService setup, and setting your OpenRouteService key into WP Go Maps, in order to enable Directions for OpenLayers.

Prerequisites

The Following Plugin/s need to be installed and active

  • WP Go Maps
  • WP Go G Maps Pro Add-on

The Following Map engine needs to be enabled

  • OpenLayers

Creating an OpenRouteService API Key

Firstly, please navigate to theΒ OpenRouteService developer login page.

From there please login, or create an account.

Once logged in, please click β€œCreate Token” from the developer dashboard

Please note that API keys have daily usage limitations.Β You can apply for a paid key if you wish to increase your daily quota beyond the free provision.

Copy the Key that has been created

Inserting your API key

Please navigate to

WP Go Maps -> Settings -> Advanced Settings

You will need to have already set Maps Engine API to β€œOpenLayers”.Β The OpenRouteService API Key field will not be visible if the Google Maps engine is being used.

Paste your OpenRouteService key. Remember to save your settings.

Enabling Directions

Please navigate as follows and select the "Enable Directions" toggle near the top of the page

WP Go Maps ->Maps (edit your chosen map) -> Directions

Remember to "Save Map"
