Adding a Rectangle

Overview

This section covers how to add a Rectangle to your map

Prerequisites

The Following Plugin/s need to be installed and active

  • WP Go Maps
  • WP Go Maps Pro Add-on (optional, but required to edit Description, link, hover and layer settings)

On the Map editor of the of your selected map, you are able to navigate to the Rectangle page to view, add or edit existing Rectangles.

WP Go MAPS -> Maps (edit your chosen map) -> Rectangles

To Add a new Rectangle select the "Add Rectangle" text near the top of the page or select the + icon and then the Rectangle icon that appears on the map preview

  • ClickΒ on the map to set the first corner of your rectangle.
  • ClickΒ again to set the other corner and to finish drawing your rectangle.

Rectangle Options

Edit the following options as required

Name: Name your Rectangle, this identifies it on the Rectangles page where all existing Rectangles are listed

Description: Use this to describe your Rectangle in more detail. You can inclided media in the description

Link: If you would like a link in the Rectangles InfoWindow, insert the full URL here (includingΒ https://). This URL will allow visitors to open a web page from the rectangle InfoWindow.

To Open link in a new tab. Please update the appropriate option in the Global InfoWindow Settings:

WP MAPS -> Settings -> Info Windows

Line and Fill Colour of the rectangle

Line and Fill Colour of the Rectangle when hovering over it

Layer: Entering a value into this textbox will influence how close to the top the Drawing object is displayed in relation to other objects, the greater the number, the closer to the top it is displayed

Saving the Rectangle

Select Add Rectangle at the bottom right of the page, to save your new Rectangle
